Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking an entry-level Software Development Engineer I to build internal AWS tools and services that empower distributed teams. You will design and implement scripts and tools, collaborate across the SDLC, and contribute to reliability engineering initiatives in a fast-paced cloud environment.

Ideal candidates are early in their careers, eager to learn distributed systems, and capable of debugging complex issues while driving automation and developer productivity

Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher, or security certifications; this role may require TS/SCI with polygraph.
Experience programming in at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby).
Experience with automation tools for building, testing, releasing or monitoring.

Responsibilities

Write clean, maintainable code for internal AWS tools and services with code reviews.
Implement and test new features to boost developer productivity and operations.
Collaborate through the software lifecycle including design, testing, deployment and maintenance.
Debug and resolve issues across the stack and participate in operational support.
Develop innovative automation to reduce repetitive tasks and cognitive load.
Expand regional coverage and troubleshoot region-specific challenges.
