Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to own and deliver features for internal AWS tools and services, impacting AWS teams and customers at scale.

You’ll design, implement, and deliver end‑to‑end solutions, review code, mentor engineers, and drive improvements in productivity and reliability across distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deliver features end-to-end for internal AWS tools and services.
• Solve difficult technical problems across the development stack with sound trade-offs.
• Provide meaningful code review feedback and mentor newer engineers.
• Identify improvements to developer productivity and operational excellence.
• Mentor newer engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across the software development lifecycle.
