Job summary

Rohrer Bus in Duncannon, PA, is seeking a School Van Driver to safely transport students to and from school in compliance with all laws and district policies. Responsibilities include route adherence, vehicle checks, and maintaining a respectful, secure environment for students.

The role requires a valid driver's license with 3+ years driving history, ability to pass background checks and drug screens, and comfort with Samsara and Dayforce systems.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of satisfactory driving history.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Medical: Ability to pass initial and routine physical examinations and drug/alcohol screening programs.
• Comfortable using Samsara (GPS/vehicle tracking) and Dayforce (scheduling/HR).

Responsibilities

• Transport students safely and courteously in accordance with all traffic laws and policies.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to pick up and drop off students at stops.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip safety checks of the vehicle.
• Maintain a safe, orderly environment inside the vehicle and report behavioral issues in writing.
• Assist students in boarding and exiting, including securing mobility devices.
• Immediately report delays, mechanical defects, or incidents to dispatch and management.
• Attend safety and training meetings and conduct emergency evacuation drills as required.
