Job summary

NRT Bus, Inc. in Newbury, MA is seeking a Part-Time School Van Driver to safely transport students to school and events.

You’ll drive assigned routes, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain a clean, safe vehicle while communicating professionally with families and school staff. Paid training is provided, with a starting pay of $24.41 per hour and opportunities for additional hours through charters and activities.

Qualifications

• School Pupil Transport (7D) Certificate or willingness to obtain; training provided.
• Safe driving record.
• Age 21+ with at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Able to pass background check, drug screening, and 7D physical.
• Effective communication in English (spoken & written).

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and events.
• May include assisting students enter/exit vehicle and using safety equipment.
• Drive assigned routes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

Pay & Schedule

Pay: $24.41/hour
Paid Training: $20/hour
Schedule: Part‑time, split shift (AM/PM) Weekdays only – no nights, weekends, or holidays
Weekly pay + guaranteed minimum hours

What You’ll Do

• Safely transport students to and from school and events
• May include assisting students enter/exit vehicle and using specialized safety equipment (belts, car seats, booster seats, etc)
• Drive assigned routes
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections
• Maintain a clean, safe vehicle
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and school staff
• Follow all state/local traffic laws and school district policies

Requirements
