Job summary

Leesel Transportation in Methuen, Massachusetts is looking for reliable drivers to safely transport students during part-time split shifts. This role provides opportunities for paid training, and the ability to bring the van home enhances work-life balance.

Ideal candidates may include retirees, veterans, or active community members. Drivers will help with student safety and follow all traffic laws. A School Pupil Transport (7D) Certificate is required, but training will be provided for those willing to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain the 7D Certificate if not already held.
• Age 21 or older with at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and 7D physical.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and events.
• Assist students entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Drive assigned routes and maintain a clean vehicle.

Job description

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $23.70 per hour
• Paid training: $20 per hour
• Schedule: Part‑time, split shift (AM/PM)
• Weekdays only — no nights, weekends, or holidays
• Weekly pay plus guaranteed minimum hours

What You’ll Do

• Safely transport students to and from school and events
• May include assisting students enter/exit vehicle and using specialized safety equipment (belts, car seats, booster seats, etc.)
• Drive assigned routes
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections
• Maintain a clean, safe vehicle
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and school staff
• Follow all state and local traffic laws and school district policies

Requirements

• School Pupil Transport (7D) Certificate (or willingness to obtain — we train!)
• Safe driving record
• Age 21 or older with at least 3 years of driving experience
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and 7D physical
• Effectively communicate in English (spoken and written)
