Job summary

Beacon Mobility in Gardner, MA seeks a School Van Driver (Part-Time) to transport students to and from school and events. You’ll drive routes, perform inspections, and keep a clean, safe vehicle while communicating with students, families, and staff.

Paid training at $20/hour with no experience required; 21+ with 3 years driving, a clean record, and 7D cert (or willingness to obtain) are required. Weekdays only, split AM/PM shifts, guaranteed hours.

• Valid driving record with safe driving history.
• Age 21+ with at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and 7D physical.
• Clear English communication, spoken and written.

Job description

Van Pool Transportation LLCA Driver is responsible for transporting clients from their pickup point to their destination in a timely and safe manner. Using a vehicle to successfully transport people, performing pre-trip inspections, performing child checks post-route, and keeping their vehicle within DOT regulations are the most important tasks of the driver.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay: $24.41/hour (Effective 8/24/26)
  • Paid Training: $20/hour
• Schedule: Part‑time, split shift (AM/PM)
• Weekdays only — no nights, weekends, or holidays
• Weekly pay + guaranteed minimum hours

What You’ll Do

• Safely transport students to and from school and events
  • May include assisting students enter/exit vehicle and using specialized safety equipment (belts, car seats, booster seats, etc)
• Drive assigned routes
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections
• Maintain a clean, safe vehicle
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and school staff
• Follow all state/local traffic laws and school district policies

Requirements

• School Pupil Transport (7D) Certificate (or willingness to obtain — we train!)
