Job summary

West Memphis School District Technology Department seeks a Computer Technician to maintain district computer and network equipment, install software, and troubleshoot issues to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Related college or technical school coursework.
Documented training in computer hardware, software and network use, troubleshooting and repair.
A+ certification and networking certifications preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator's License and ability to provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

Installs and maintains computer operating systems, application software, and related equipment.
Performs computer and network hardware and software repair (computers, servers, switches, printers, scanners, and programs).
Creates and maintains E-Mail and Internet accounts on computers; configures E-Mail and security on computers.
Inspects computer and network equipment requiring specialized repair and troubleshooting for repair needs.
Assesses malfunctions of hardware to determine appropriate actions to maintain operations.
Provides technical support to users of hardware and software.
Maintains the school‑based computer labs in good working order.
Trains selected individuals to use computer systems and software.
Coordinates computer and network‑related repair requests.
Maintains records regarding functioning and inventory of computers and equipment.
Assists in purchasing recommendations for new computers, software, and equipment.
