Job summary

Summit Public Schools is seeking a Technology Specialist to serve as the primary technical partner at our school sites in the San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle/Tacoma. You will deliver exceptional customer support, manage site infrastructure, and drive innovative solutions to empower classroom learning.

You’ll administer Google Workspace and VMware, troubleshoot networks, and help staff adopt AI tools while coordinating with central IT. Travel between sites is required as part of this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 1-4 years of tier-1/tier-2 IT support experience and troubleshooting laptops, Chromebooks, printers, and AV equipment.
• Proficient with Google Workspace administration, Windows OS, ChromeOS, Zoom, and basic networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical partner and operational anchor across assigned school sites.
• Provide rapid, responsive technical support for hardware, software, and systems.
• Maintain site equipment and manage IT inventory, warranties, and vendor coordination.
• Administer core cloud platforms and manage user accounts and permissions in Google Workspace and VMware.
• Lead operational projects and assist in building automated workflows (e.g., Google Apps Script).
