Job summary

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to lead school nutrition programs. You will develop nutritious, cost-effective menus for the district and contracted accounts, ensuring USDA, state, and federal compliance across all programs.

You will train nutrition staff, collaborate with operational teams, and provide expertise on menus, nutrient analyses, and food sourcing. The role supports student health and district wellness initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and maintain nutritious menus for students.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and USDA programs.
• Train staff on food safety and program updates.
• Coordinate with operational teams to meet nutrition guidelines and cost goals.
• Provide technical expertise on menus, templates, and site data.
• Maintain USDA-compliant nutrition databases and analyses.
• Assess student dietary needs and accommodations per IEP/504 plans.
• Develop relationships with vendors and monitor market trends.
• Create product specifications for bids and quality standards.
• Lead district wellness and health initiatives and grants.
• Serve as a dietetic preceptor for interns.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and communications.
