Job summary

The Consortium of Jewish Day Schools is looking for a Building/Grounds Maintenance worker in Great Neck, NY. You will perform routine cleaning, basic repairs, and assist with events, maintaining indoor and outdoor areas across the campus.

Ideal candidates can lift up to 50 lbs, read and follow written instructions in English, and work as part of a team. This is a full-time, day-shift role with potential overtime for events.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Prior building cleaning experience.
• Must read/communicate in English and follow written instructions.
• Must be able to move furniture, carry equipment and climb stairs with ease.
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to be flexible and work with interruptions in a positive manner, and in an environment with a number of faculty, staff and students.
• Strong communication skills and ability to problem solve.
• Some basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing routine cleaning, dusting, and trash removal.
• Performing carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs; installing and replacing fixtures etc.
• Assist with school events, set up and break down including sporting events.
• Building/Moving furniture and equipment within buildings.
• Operates a variety of building maintenance and/or lawn and grounds equipment.
