Job summary

Red Rabbit in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Lead Cook, In-School to join a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen that serves 350+ fresh, scratch-made lunches daily. You will lead a 3–5 person team, ensure quality, and follow DOH standards while managing production with accuracy.

The role offers Monday–Friday hours 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, competitive pay $19–$21/hour plus benefits, and opportunities to grow within a mission-driven culinary team focused on nutrition in schools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a high-volume kitchen or cafeteria.
• Ability to follow recipes and production sheets.
• ServSafe certification within 90 days of hire.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation for every batch.
• Coordinate with the Chef to prioritize daily production.
• Read menus and production sheets to prepare, portion, and weigh food.
• Cook scratch-made dishes with flavor and texture in mind.
• Prepare and pack meals following school meal program rules.
• Maintain DOH sanitation standards and safe food handling.
