Job summary

Douglas County School District at Northridge Elementary is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily meal preparation, service, and sales while following district policies and HACCP standards. The role focuses on safe food handling and customer service within a school setting.

You will work 20 hours per week (0.50 FTE) with a flexible schedule, and may travel between sites as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, service, and sale of meals while complying with regulations.
• Prepare meals by washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruits, vegetables, and meats.
• Set up and clean serving areas, including dishwashing and sanitation.
• Follow HACCP standards and operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Ensure proper cooking/serving temperatures and record as required.
• Unloading and proper storage of delivered food items.
• Learn and operate Point of Sale system and reconcile daily monies.
• Travel to multiple schools as needed; flexible schedule.
