Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Cresthill Middle School to support daily lunch program prep and service. The role emphasizes customer service, food safety, and accurate POS handling in a school setting.

You will assist in meal prep, serving, cleaning, and maintaining HACCP compliance across multiple school sites as needed, while supporting a cooperative team and flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Pursue opportunities to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Communicate effectively in written and verbal form; maintain confidentiality.
• Complete required USDA/Mandatory Professional Standards trainings annually.
• Assist in preparation, service and sale of meals per HACCP standards.
• Setup and cleanup of serving areas; ensure sanitation and safety.
• Operate POS system and reconcile monies daily; may travel to multiple sites.
