Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Sage Canyon Elementary (Castle Rock, CO). The role supports daily lunch preparation, serving, sanitation, and adherence to HACCP standards. It involves customer service, POS operation, and inter-site coordination.

The position offers 20 hours per week (FTE 0.50) with a 172 work-day schedule; full benefits and salary range based on district guidelines. Travel between multiple schools may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the proper set up and cleanup of serving areas for timely service to students, including dishwashing and sanitation.
• Serve meals daily while complying with all school food regulations and HACCP standards.
• Follow menu and recipe instructions and ensure proper food temperatures and portion sizes.
• Unloading and proper storage of delivered food items.
• Learn and operate Point of Sale system and reconcile monies daily to ensure accuracy.
• Interact with the surrounding community, staff, students and parents and provide good customer service.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally; maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in training including PGI Classes and USDA Mandatory Professional Standards hours.
