Red Rabbit seeks a Chef, In-School for multiple locations. You will craft scratch-made meals for hundreds of students daily, focusing on flavorful, safe, and timely service. The role emphasizes cultural relevance, meal presentation, and collaboration with a small kitchen team in a school setting.

With 3+ years in a fast-paced kitchen, you’ll ensure high-quality, nutritious meals, follow safety protocols, and contribute to a welcoming dining experience for students across various locations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional culinary experience in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong hands-on cooking skills and ability to follow recipes and produce consistent, high-quality meals.
• Demonstrated knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to organize preparation and service tasks, manage timing, and maintain quality in a busy kitchen.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
• Ability to work collaboratively and complete assigned tasks independently.
• Comfort using software, apps, or spreadsheets to record and report daily information.
• Required food safety certification for the assigned location, or willingness to obtain it within the required timeframe.
• Must share our passion for improving nutrition and health in schools and see our work through the lens of food justice.

Responsibilities

• Culinary Execution: Contribute ideas to culturally relevant menus and turn ingredients into memorable dishes.
• Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a food-safe kitchen, follow procedures, and log records.
• Meal Presentation & Service: Make meals visually appealing and deliver on time with warmth.
• School Community: Build positive relationships with students and staff, and communicate needs to management.
• Kitchen Organization & Administration: Keep station organized, track inventory and submit daily reports.
