Job summary

Omaha Public Schools Skinner Elementary in Omaha, Nebraska is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for a full-time, benefits-eligible position starting immediately. Shift is 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

on school days, with travel to other OPS sites as needed. You will assist with meal preparation and service, cleaning, stock rotation, and customer service. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Douglas County Food Handler’s Certification and Kitchen Assistant Training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent attendance and work record required.
• Basic arithmetic using money, weight, volume, and distance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, service, and storage of food.
• Assist with reports and records.
• Interact with diverse student populations and serve as a positive role model.
• Follow HACCP and food safety procedures.
• Train in kitchen areas to cross-cover as needed.
