Millard Public Schools in Omaha, NE is seeking an Elementary Kitchen Helper for the 2026-2027 school year. This 10-month, 6.5-hour-per-day position supports meal preparation, serving, and cleanup for students.

Responsibilities include cooking, cleaning, cashier duties, and ensuring food safety while maintaining a positive, cooperative attitude with staff and students. High school diploma required; prior school kitchen experience preferred; Food Handlers training within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in high-volume food preparation and serving is desired.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and others.
• Ability and willingness to follow work instructions in all areas of foodservice and maintain a positive attitude toward the foodservice program.
• Ability to report to work on time and notify manager promptly when unable to work.

Responsibilities

• Cook and bake food, prepare portions, and assist with meal preparation.
• Clean and sanitize utensils, dishes, and appliances; perform general kitchen cleaning.
• Assist as cashier for lunch; assemble supplies and store food for shipment to other kitchens.
• Serve prepared food to students.
• Adapt to a dynamic environment while maintaining productivity.
• Interact positively with students, staff, and supervisors.
