Job summary

Millard Public Schools in Omaha, NE is hiring a High School Kitchen Helper for the 26-27 school year, 10-month position, 7 hours per day. The role assists with the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals for students and reports to the Kitchen Manager.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in high-volume food preparation, and will complete a Food Handlers Class within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in high-volume food preparation and serving is desired.
• Must complete Food Handlers Class within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and others.
• Ability to follow work instructions in all areas of foodservice and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties associated with meal preparation, cooking, baking, portioning, and related tasks (45%).
• Cleans equipment and maintains kitchen cleanliness (25%).
• Performs miscellaneous food service duties including cashiering, ordering supplies, and storing food (20%).
• Serves prepared food to students (10%).
• Able to adapt to change and interact positively with staff, students, and supervisors.
