Job summary

Millard Public Schools in Omaha, NE seeks a High School Kitchen Helper for the 2026-2027 school year, 10 months, 6 hours per day. Assists with preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals for students; reports to the Kitchen Manager or Production Lead; previous food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities include cooking and baking support, equipment cleaning, basic cashier duties, and stocking; must obtain Food Handlers Certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food service experience preferred; school kitchen experience desired.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals for students.
• Cooks and bakes food, prepares portions, and assists with other prep duties.
• Cleans equipment and maintains kitchen cleanliness.
• Performs miscellaneous food service duties, including possible lunch cashier duties.
• Responds to changes with flexibility and maintains good interaction with staff and students.
