Job summary

North High School in Omaha is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation, service, and sanitation during the school day. The role covers 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., about 4.0 hours daily, with duties in preparing, serving, rotating stock, and ensuring quality customer service.

Responsibilities include following HACCP procedures, maintaining clean kitchens, and assisting in various stations as needed. Uniform allowance and a shift meal are provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to apply basic arithmetic using money, weights, volume, and distance.
• Previous food service experience preferred.
• Safe food handling skills required.
• Customer relations and service recovery skills.
• Excellent attendance and work record required.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to interact with students, staff, and parents from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel to other schools when requested.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing equipment and areas.
• Complete daily tasks promptly.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely.

Responsibilities
