SOUTH HIGH in Omaha, Nebraska is hiring a part-time Kitchen Helper for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports meal prep, serving, and cleanup for students, with a 10-month schedule and a same-school calendar.

The position reports to the Kitchen Manager and Production Lead and requires a Food Handlers Class within 30 days of employment. Compensation is $18.83 per hour with benefits including health, dental/vision eligibility, life insurance, and paid holidays and sick leave.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in high-volume food preparation and serving preferred.
• Food Handlers Class required within 30 days of employment.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, serves, and cleans up meals for students.
• Cooks and bakes, portions, and handles food preparation duties.
• Cleans equipment and maintains kitchen cleanliness.
• Occasional cashier duties for lunch and stock/purposes.
• Interacts with students and staff in a positive manner.
