Job summary

Léman Manhattan Preparatory School is seeking a reliable Kitchen Utility to support our dining program. You will assist with daily meal service, receive deliveries, help with a fresh salad bar and hot lunch items, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen.

Ideal candidates have a culinary background or 2–5 years of kitchen experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to sanitation. NYS Food Handlers Certificate or ServSafe certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Culinary School degree or 2–5 years of kitchen experience.
• Catering experience is a plus.
• High-volume, complex foodservice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation, food production, and presentation.
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
• Able to maintain a clean, organized, sanitary kitchen.
• Experience in catering/restaurants and formal culinary training required.
• NYS Food Handlers or ServSafe certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive and organize deliveries and storage following FIFO, light prep, and kitchen organization projects.
• Dishwashing during lunch service rush with the lead dishwasher.
• Must be able to lift heavy boxes and kitchen equipment.
