Job summary

Upper Crust Food Service is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team with food prep, sanitation, and orderly kitchen operations across our campus-based dining programs. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, and assisting chefs to ensure smooth service.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in a full-service restaurant, a valid food safety certification, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a full-service restaurant as a prep/line cook.
• Have a valid food safety handler and sanitation certification or obtain within 30 days of employment.
• High school or vocational training in kitchen basics such as food safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food as directed by Head Chef and Sous Chef.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area.
• Wash kitchen utensils, equipment and dishes.
• Stock supplies in serving stations, cupboards and refrigerators.
• Assist in unloading and putting away deliveries.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers.
