Job summary

Capital Preparatory Charter Schools is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to work closely with the kitchen manager and provide the highest level of service to students. Responsibilities include setting up the kitchen for lunch, cashiering, and ensuring compliance with sanitation standards.

The ideal candidate should hold an NYC Food Server Certification and have excellent communication and multi-tasking abilities. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and serve the young customers in our community.

Qualifications

• Must hold NYC Food Server Certification.
• Must have excellent communication and people skills.
• Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 20 pounds.
• Ability to stand on feet for a long period.
• Comply with applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Help in the kitchen, set up and assemble line for lunch.
• Cashiering during lunch meals.
• Provide professional service to students and staff.
• Clean up once meals have been served.
• Attend yearly training required by the USDA.
