St. Martin’s Episcopal School seeks a Controller / Business Manager to join our Business Office team.

You will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, cash management, internal controls, and audit preparation while supporting daily financial activities. Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer, the ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and collaborative, with a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and service.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 2–5 years accounting experience; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and AP/AR.
• Experience with nonprofit or fund accounting, including restricted funds and endowments.
• Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT preferred.

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, and student billing.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Supervise accounting staff and promote accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration.
• Assist with annual budget development and monitor departmental budgets.
• Manage cash flow and support sound financial planning.
• Oversee payroll accounting, benefits transactions, and retirement plan deposits.
• Maintain internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate annual audit preparation and assist with tax filings.
• Maintain accurate records and support use of accounting systems.
