Job summary

Arrupe Jesuit High School seeks a Controller to lead daily financial operations, maintain the general ledger, month-end close, payroll, audits, and reporting to the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees.

The role modernizes the Business Office, strengthens internal controls, and optimizes cloud-based accounting, delivering timely dashboards for leadership decisions in a small, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience with full-cycle GL and close ownership.
• Strong command of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices.
• Proficiency with accounting software and advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent organization and communication, with ability to explain financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own the general ledger and chart of accounts per GAAP and nonprofit standards.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and banking relationships.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including investments and CWSP receivables.
• Oversee restricted/unrestricted funds, grants, and release of restrictions.
• Lead month-end and year-end close; coordinate external audit and Form 990.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and segregation of duties.
• Deliver timely financial statements and board reporting; lead budget forecasting.
• Stabilize QuickBooks Online and dashboards; automate workflows where possible.
• Oversee payroll and benefits; coordinate CWSP billing and revenue recognition.
