Job summary

The Tri-Town School Union is seeking a dedicated Facilities Operations Supervisor to oversee management and maintenance of school facilities. This leadership role ensures buildings and grounds are safe, clean, and efficient to support quality education and community use.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing budgets, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple locations. Strong leadership, technical knowledge, and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years in a progressive facilities management supervisory role.
• Experience in educational, medical or high-tech settings preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, and related safety/compliance regulations.
• Proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Massachusetts driver’s license required.
• Additional facilities certifications are a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of school buildings and grounds to maintain safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
• Lead, schedule, and evaluate custodial and maintenance staff across locations.
• Assist in developing and managing facilities budgets and procurement.
• Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance programs and ensure timely repairs.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
• Oversee external vendor contracts and performance.
• Develop strategies to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Act as primary contact for facility-related emergencies.
