Job summary

The Tri-Town School Union is seeking a Facilities Operations Supervisor to manage daily operations of multiple school buildings and grounds, ensuring safety, cleanliness and readiness for students and community use.

Reports to the Director of Facilities. The role requires leadership of custodial teams, budget support, and coordination of maintenance programs across campuses, with responsibilities extending to safety, compliance, and energy efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years in a progressive facilities management supervisory role(s).
• Experience in facilities management, preferably in educational or medical settings.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and maintenance processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills; manage multiple tasks/teams.
• Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA, ADA).
• Proficiency with facility management software, CMMS, Google and MS Office.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of school facilities and grounds to high standards.
• Lead, schedule, and evaluate custodial and maintenance staff across locations.
• Assist in developing and managing facilities budgets and procurement.
• Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance programs; ensure timely repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, building codes, and environmental guidelines.
• Oversee vendor contracts and performance; manage external contractors.
• Develop energy-efficiency strategies for facilities operations.
• Act as primary point of contact for facility emergencies and responses.
