Job summary

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. seeks a Facility Supervisor to manage daily operation, maintenance, safety, and cleanliness for a Bronx elementary school. You will lead the custodial and porter team and serve as the primary facilities contact with school leadership.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical and building systems, provide strong customer service, and supervise staff in a highly visible school environment. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of building maintenance, facilities, engineering, or related experience.
• Experience supervising custodial, porter, maintenance, or facilities employees.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of general building maintenance.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
• Ability to diagnose building problems and determine the appropriate course of action.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with school leadership, teachers, employees, vendors, students, and visitors.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance and operational requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to obtain FLSD certification within the designated timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the school building.
• Perform routine inspections of classrooms, offices, mechanical rooms, common areas, restrooms, and exterior areas.
• Troubleshoot and perform general repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, carpentry, doors, locks, and other building systems.
• Coordinate and oversee outside vendors performing repairs, inspections, and maintenance.
• Monitor contractor performance and inspect completed work.
• Coordinate maintenance for school events and special programs.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Ensure safety and compliance with applicable regulations.
