Job summary

Elior School Dining in the United States seeks a motivated Food Service Director to lead a team across K-12 dining accounts in Louisiana and Mississippi. You will oversee operations, ensure meal quality, safety, and compliance, and drive service excellence for students, staff, and clients.

The role emphasizes hiring and training, budgeting, and collaboration with district and management teams to meet targets while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Experience with industrial cooking.
• Experience in managing multiple units.
• Excellent communication with hourly staff and company executives.
• Ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer service.
• Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Job description

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add a motivated, effective food service director to our School Dining team in Louisiana & Mississippi. As a food service director, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of food service workers and manage all aspects of a food service department to ensure that students, faculty and clients never miss a meal.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts.
• Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least two years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Previous experience with industrial cooking.
• Previous experience in multiple unit management
• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.
• The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.
• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice-to-haves:

• Previous experience in school dining under NSLP
• Previous experience in food service contract management
• ServSafe and/or HACCP certification

K-12 School dining accounts in Louisiana & Mississippi

Compensation Range

Up to $80,000 per year depending on experience
