Job summary

Elior School Dining in Louisiana is seeking a motivated General Manager to lead school dining accounts across Lafayette, Farmerville, and New Orleans. You will oversee food service operations, manage a diverse team, and ensure student meals are prepared safely and on time.

Travel between accounts is required with overnight stays as needed. This role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and communication to meet targets and deliver high-quality dining services.

Qualifications

• Must-haves: At least four years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Must-haves: Previous experience with industrial cooking.
• Must-haves: Previous experience in multiple unit management.
• Must-haves: Excellent communication with hourly staff and executives.
• Must-haves: Ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer service.
• Must-haves: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite applications.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add a motivated, effective General Manager to our School Dining team in Louisiana. As a General Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of food service workers and manage all aspects of a food service department to ensure that students, faculty and clients never miss a meal.

This position requires travel between school accounts in Lafayette, Farmerville & New Orleans with overnight stays as needed

What you'll be doing:

• Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts.
• Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least four years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Previous experience with industrial cooking.
• Previous experience in multiple unit management
• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.
• The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.
• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice-to-haves:

• Previous experience in school dining under NSLP
• Previous experience in food service contract management
• ServSafe and/or HACCP certification

Where you'll be working:

K-12 School dining accounts in Louisiana.

Compensation Range

Up to $80,000 per year depending on experience
