Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a School Crossing Guard to guide pedestrians and vehicles around school zones. This non-exempt, hourly position supports student safety by enforcing crossing rules and coordinating with school staff.

Responsibilities include directing pedestrians within crosswalks, stopping traffic as needed, and reporting incidents to the principal. The role requires DOT qualifications, appropriate attire, and the ability to operate a stop paddle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Wear light-colored clothing and a safety vest.
• Must meet Colorado DOT minimum qualifications.
• Intermediate knowledge of bicycle/pedestrian practices.
• Adhere to DOT rules while on duty.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as needed.
• Monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps for crossing.
• Communicate crossing rules to students and adults.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers at designated points.
• Direct traffic movement using signs, flags, and hand signals.
• Report incidents to the building principal.
• Record license numbers of violators and report infractions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
