You will escort pedestrians, monitor traffic gaps, and report incidents. This hourly, non-exempt position requires wearing appropriate safety attire and meeting Colorado DOT requirements; physical endurance and vigilance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet Colorado Department of Transportation minimum qualifications.
• Ability to communicate instructions clearly and firmly.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
• Physical fitness to perform standing, bending, and lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, staying within crosswalks.
• Monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps for crossing.
• Communicate traffic rules to students and adults.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers at designated points.
• Direct traffic movement and warn of hazards using signs and signals.
• Report incidents involving students to the principal.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding signals and report infractions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
