Cherry Creek Schools is seeking an on-site crossing guard in Aurora, CO to guide pedestrians and vehicles at school crossings, ensuring student safety and orderly traffic flow during arrival and dismissal.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, Colorado DOT requirements, and the ability to wear a safety vest. The role is hourly and may include benefits as part of the district package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Wear appropriate clothing such as light colored slacks, light colored shirts, and a safety vest.
• Meet all Colorado Department of Transportation minimum qualifications.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
• Monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps for pedestrians.
• Communicate traffic and crossing rules to students and adults.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers at designated points.
• Direct traffic movement or warn of hazards using signs, flags, lanterns, and hand signals.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals and report infractions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
