Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Wear light-colored clothing and a safety vest.
• Must meet Colorado DOT minimum qualifications for crossing guards.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
• Monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps for crossing.
• Communicate crossing rules to students and adults.
• Distribute traffic control signs at designated points.
• Direct traffic movement or warn of hazards using signs and signals.
• Report incidents involving students to the building principal.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding signals.
