Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a vigilant crossing guard to help ensure safe passage for students and pedestrians around school zones. You will direct pedestrians, stop traffic where needed, and stay within crosswalks to protect children during arrival and dismissal.

This hourly, non-exempt role emphasizes safety, awareness, and clear instruction of crossing rules. Candidates must meet Colorado DOT requirements, wear a safety vest, and may participate in our benefits program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Wear appropriate clothing such as light colored slacks, light colored shirts, and a safety vest.
• Must meet all Colorado Department of Transportation minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Direct or escort pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
• Monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps for crossing.
• Communicate traffic rules and crossing information to students and adults.
• Distribute traffic control signs and markers at designated points.
• Direct traffic movement or warn of hazards using signs, flags, and hand signals.
• Report incidents involving students to the building principal.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding signals and report infractions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
