Job summary

Hardy County Board of Education is seeking a School Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year in Hardy County, WV. Start date is September 15, 2026 with a 210-day contract for 2026-2027, and a 210-day contract beginning in 2027-2028.

Salary will be based on the 2026-2027 salary scale and commensurate with experience and education. All applicants must hold the required WV credentials, complete mandatory trainings, and pass the district interview process.

Qualifications

• Must possess WV Professional Student Support Certificate and Counselor, Pre-K-AD certification.
• Must complete all required county and WVDE trainings.
• Ability to perform job duties per the Job Description, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Applicants with recent unsatisfactory evaluations, interview performance, unfavorable references, or prior contract non-renewals will not be eligible for consideration.

• Successful completion of the Hardy County interview process

• Additional Minimum Requirements:
• Applicants who have recent unsatisfactory evaluations will not be eligible for consideration.
• Applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration.
• Applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations are not eligible for consideration.
• Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.
