Job summary

Summit School Services is seeking a dedicated Bus Aide to support student safety during transportation. You will assist students boarding and exiting, seat them properly, monitor behavior, and help keep the vehicle clean while following district policies.

Ideal candidates relate well to children, demonstrate professionalism, and communicate effectively with staff and families. Training and safety meetings are required to ensure safe operations.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to relate to and work well with children.
• Must maintain high level of professionalism and diplomacy with students, families and staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass training/safety sessions.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with entering or exiting the bus safely.
• Seat students using seat belts, car seats or wheel chair restraints as needed.
• Monitor passengers to ensure safety regulations and conduct rules are followed.
• Report concerns about unsafe behavior to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Assist the bus driver with vehicle cleanliness and organization.
• Complete required paperwork and attend safety meetings and trainings.
