Job summary

Krise Transportation is seeking a Safety Coordinator in Harrisburg, PA to develop and implement professional workforce safety programs, oversee training for CDL-related staff, and manage safety policies. The role conducts investigations related to incidents and workers' comp, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure compliance and audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of safety or transportation experience.
• Ability to obtain CDL with P, S and air brake endorsements within 6 months.
• Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, PUC, OSHA, DOL regulations relevant to operations.
• Ability to develop and implement comprehensive safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide documentation to home office as required for safety incidents.
• Maintain accurate files on safety incidents in coordination with Terminal Manager.
• Prepare monthly safety meeting agenda with Terminal Manager.
• Schedule required drug and alcohol testing; ensure FMCSA/DOT compliance.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and assist with workers' comp processes.
• Schedule bus evacuation drills twice yearly and train students accordingly.
• Evaluate safe routes and bus stops in collaboration with operations.
• Assist Dispatch and drive when needed to maintain district contract compliance.
• Answer phones and two-way radios as needed to support operations.
• Assist staff in obtaining required safety certifications promptly.
