Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Ohio is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role requires a CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement, a clean driving record, and compliance with background checks, drug testing, and the LifeWise Academy faith-based expectations.

You will follow safety rules, perform bus inspections, and support a calm, caring environment for students.

Qualifications

• Mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• CDL driver's license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred
• Age 21-80; annual submission of CDL license and (P) Endorsement if over 75
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in last five years
• Background check through LifeWise Academy
• Drug and/or alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, annual random tests, post-accidents)
• Yearly Physician's Statement for drivers with known medical conditions

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Enforce safety rules for students and assist with entering/exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of students needing help or misbehaving
• Complete LifeWise Academy training
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with the director
