Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Ohio is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to provide safe transportation for students and volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate will be punctual, possess a valid CDL with a passenger vehicle endorsement, and meet Faith-based participation requirements.

Qualifications include a clean driving record, consent to background checks and drug testing, and the ability to pass a medical evaluation.

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P) required; School bus (S) endorsement preferred
• Mature Christian faith and active church involvement per LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Age 21–80; anyone over 75 must submit CDL copy and (P) endorsement annually
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years
• Background check through LifeWise Academy
• Drug and/or alcohol testing required (pre-employment, random, post-accidents)
• Maintain yearly Physician's Statement for drivers with known medical conditions

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain bus cleanliness and mechanical safety
• Perform regular bus inspections
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules; assist students boarding/alighting; remain calm and caring and watch for misbehavior
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with director
