Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Ohio is seeking a part-time LifeWise vehicle driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate is punctual, responsible, and maintains a clean driving record while upholding the organization’s faith commitments.

Responsibilities include transporting children and volunteers, obeying traffic laws, maintaining bus safety, inspecting and refueling as needed, and supporting a calm, caring environment.

Qualifications

• Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church aligned with the LifeWise Statement of Faith.
• Regular driver's license held for past three years.
• CDL with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) for 15-passenger vehicles or 15-passenger van requires no special license.
• Age 21–80 with additional documentation for over 75.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Annual Physician's Statement for medical conditions as required.
• Drug and/or alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, annual random, post-accidents).

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the Director.
