Job summary

LifeWise Academy is hiring a part-time vehicle driver to transport public school students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires a clean driving record, a CDL with passenger endorsement for 15-passenger vehicles, and successful completion of background and medical statements.

Drivers must be experienced, punctual, and able to enforce safety rules while maintaining a caring demeanor.

Qualifications

• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) for 15-passenger vehicles; 15-passenger van requires no special license.
• Age requirement: 21-80 years; exceptions and documentation for drivers over 75.
• Must pass a background check and obtain a yearly Physician's Statement for any medical conditions.
• Undergo and pass drug and/or alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, random tests, post-accidents).

Responsibilities

• Transport students and volunteers to and from LifeWise sites.
• Obey traffic laws and maintain bus cleanliness and safety.
• Perform regular bus inspections and refueling as needed.
• Create a safe environment for children and enforce safety rules.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if directed by the Director.
