Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport public school students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. You will be responsible for safe operations, enforcing rules, and maintaining a clean, secure bus environment.

The role requires a CDL with passenger endorsement, a clean driving record, and completion of required safety trainings. Compliance with background checks and FMCSA Clearinghouse is mandatory, and drug testing is performed as part of

Qualifications

• CDL driver's license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle required
• Age 21-80 years
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within last five years
• Background check through LifeWise Academy required
• FMCSA Clearinghouse check must be clear
• Drug/alcohol testing required (pre-employment, random, post-accidents)
• Annual submission of Physician's Statement if medical condition exists

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of students needing help or who are misbehaving
• Complete LifeWise Academy training
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if approved by director
