Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport public school students and LifeWise volunteers to and from the site. The role requires a CDL with a passenger endorsement (P) and preferred school bus (S) endorsement, along with a mature Christian faith and active church involvement.

Responsibilities include safe driving, maintaining bus cleanliness and safety, regular inspections, and assisting students.

Qualifications

• Mature personal Christian faith aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• Active participation in a local church aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• CDL driver's license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required.
• School bus endorsement (S) preferred.
• Age 21–80; renewal requirements for drivers over 75.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in 5 years.
• Background check and FMCSA Clearinghouse clearance.
• Drug/alcohol testing as required.
• Annual Physician's Statement for known medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular bus inspections.
• Refuel as needed.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of students needing help or misbehaving.
• Complete LifeWise Academy training.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with the director.
