Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a CDL bus driver to provide safe transportation for public school students and LifeWise volunteers. The role requires a mature Christian faith, active church involvement, and a valid CDL with passenger endorsement.

A clean driving record and background/drug testing are mandatory. The position is part-time and involves transporting students, maintaining safety, and complying with LifeWise training and policies.

Qualifications

• Must have mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active church involvement aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• CDL license; copy may be on file.
• Continuous licensure for past 3 years.
• Endorsement for passenger vehicle (P) required.
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• Age 21-80; drivers >75 submit CDL license and (P) endorsement annually.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in 5 years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Drug/alcohol testing required (pre-employment, annual random, post-accidents).
• Yearly Physician's Statement if medical conditions exist.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to/from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain bus cleanliness and mechanical safety.
• Perform regular bus inspections.
• Refuel as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students entering/exiting the vehicle.
• Demonstrate calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of students needing help or misbehaving.
• Complete LifeWise Academy training.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with director.
