Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a LifeWise CDL bus driver to provide safe transportation for public school students and volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires a mature Christian faith, a clean driving record, and CDL with P endorsement; a School bus endorsement is preferred.

The position is part-time and on-site. Responsibilities include maintaining bus safety and cleanliness, conducting inspections, refueling, enforcing rules, and assisting students.

Qualifications

• CDL with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred
• Age 21-80 years
• Annual CDL license and (P) endorsement update if over 75
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in 5 years
• Background check through LifeWise Academy required
• Drug/alcohol testing as required
• Medical statement for known conditions per underwriter

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain the bus cleanliness and mechanical safety
• Perform regular bus inspections
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of students needing help or who are misbehaving
• Complete LifeWise Academy training
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with director
