Job summary

The School Association for Special Education in DuPage County is seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant to support students with diverse needs. The SLPA will work under the Program Administrator and collaborate with classroom teams to implement speech-language goals across the curriculum.

Qualified candidates hold an SLPA credential or IDFPR license, have 1,000 hours of supervised fieldwork, and possess a valid IL driver’s license with access to transportation between sites.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree pathway in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Sciences and Disorders, or equivalent.
• Licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (IDFPR or equivalent).
• At least 1,000 hours of supervised fieldwork.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel between sites.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech and language services to students with diverse needs in classroom settings.
• Collaborate with the educational team to support IEP goals across the curriculum.
• Assist in designing communication systems for real-world use.
• Maintain appropriate records and coordinate with other school personnel.
• Adhere to MTSS processes and evidence-based practice guidelines.
