Job summary

Hope Learning Academy in Springfield, IL is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to support a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in addressing speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. You will implement individualized plans, collect data, write daily treatment notes, maintain equipment, and assist with evaluation and record-keeping while safeguarding confidentiality.

Requires an Associate degree in Speech and Language Pathology or equivalent and Illinois SLPA license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree – Speech and Language Pathology or equivalent.
• Holds Illinois license as Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant.
• Professional and effective communication skills.
• Enhanced understanding of medical/clinical records, consents, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment, guidance, and instruction to residents in individual and group settings, following plans developed by the Speech Language Pathologist.
• Collect data and write daily treatment notes as specified within each patient’s treatment plan.
• Maintain speech and language therapy equipment in good repair and make adjustments as necessary.
• Promote motivation in treatment through creativity while treating patients with confidentiality.
• Assist therapist with evaluation and record-keeping procedures as directed.
