Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a full-time Sign Language Interpreter for a school-based role in Alabama. You will provide 1:1 interpreting for a student in an elementary setting, delivering communication access across the school day.

The position runs on a consistent weekday schedule (8:00 AM–2:30 PM) with daily collaboration among teachers and staff. The role emphasizes confidentiality, reliability, and a student-centered approach to support learning and social participation.

Qualifications

Active Alabama Sign Language Interpreter license or permit.
RID, EIPA, BEI or similar interpreting certification preferred.
Prior school-based interpreting experience is a plus.
Experience providing 1:1 support to students in educational contexts.
Consistent, dependable attendance through May 28, 2027.
Availability to work full school schedule (8:00 AM–2:30 PM).

Responsibilities

Deliver 1:1 interpreting services for a student throughout the school day.
Support classroom learning, activities, and social interaction by facilitating communication.
Collaborate with teachers, educational teams, and school staff.
Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.
Participate in team meetings and training as required.
